100 R's

For this project, I found 100 instances of a singular letter and challenged myself to create a compelling composition out of them. I chose the letter “R” because it is one of the most commonly-used letters, so there are a wide variety of vernacular examples. Additionally, the letter “R” combines a rigid stem with the curve of a bowl and the flourish of the leg; providing a plethora of characteristics that could be changed in an infinite number of ways. I hope this collage shows the wide variety of tone and character a single letterform can have.
